About The Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation
In 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary, a mountaineer from New Zealand, summited Mount Everest in Nepal with Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. But Sir Edmund’s summit of Mount Everest is only the start of this story. It was his interaction with the Sherpa people of Nepal, including his trekking partner, Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, that created a lifelong bond and respect for their culture and a mission to help them help themselves.
A Night IN For Nepal is back for the second virtual culinary event featuring more of the sights, smells and tastes that make Nepal so special.
Join us on Saturday, January 22 from 6pm-8pm (EST) with Chef Harry Prosser to cook another delicious Nepalese inspired meal to together in the comfort of your homes. At this event, we will learn to make a "Shyakpa" - a hearty Sherpa soup to cure the winter blues.
You will also have the opportunity to hear Peter Hillary, Sir Edmund Hillary's son and Foundation Board member, speak at this event. Peter is an accomplished mountaineer, speaker and philanthropist. To read more about his incredible life, visit his website.
