In preparation for the event, please ensure you are purchasing all of the ingredients needed to make a "Shyakpa" - a hearty Sherpa soup! This dish serves 4. You can double it up for more and it refrigerates and freezes well if you make too much.

  • Turmeric (2 inches fresh or 1/4 tsp powdered)
  • 2 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Inch Ginger
  • 1 Bulb Bok Choy
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Large Carrot
  • 3 Button Mushrooms
  • Cabbage (Napa or Green)
  • 1-2 Peppers (Green, Red or Yellow)
  • 1-2 Potatoes
  • Daikon Radish (optional)
  • Stock (Chicken, Beef or Vegetable)
  • 1/2 pound of protein
    Lamb (traditional) or Chicken or Tofu
  • Noodles
    (1 Cup All-Purpose Flour & 1/2 Cup Water)
  • Lentils and/or Chickpeas (optional)
  • Soy Sauce
  • Rice Vinegar
